ROLE |
The association is run by a Board of Directors consisting of a Chair appointed by the Ministry of Public Works, who is a major player representative of the Charleroi region, and fourteen members appointed by the partners.
The mandates are divided between:
- the Walloon Region;
- the Province of Hainaut;
- the City of Charleroi;
- IGRETEC.
The Board can carry out all actions of administration and disposal on behalf of the autonomous Port; it rules on all matters relating to the work of the port, its equipment and its operation; grants concessions and permits, buys and sells, rents and leases real estate and assets.
Pursuant to the legislation on the control of certain organisations working in the public interest, the association is controlled with the intervention of two Walloon Government Commissioners.
